Britney "For the Record" Review

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style, Interviews

Britney SpearsBritney Spears let cameras follow her all over the world for sixty days, and the best moment was when she donned a chic suit, looked in the mirror, and said "Hello, I'm Matilda."

What we always love (and sometimes miss) about Britney is her fun spirit. She's a cut up, that's why she always kills on Saturday night live. Perhaps it's that training from The Mickey Mouse Club, but we think it's just who she is. We bet if you knew Brit Brit, you'd like her. And you'd give her some of your prescription drugs. Oops.

Wal-Mart Worker Killed by Black Friday Shoppers

Filed under: Style in the News

ShoppersToday at Green Acres mall in Nassau County, New York, tragedy struck when a 34 year old Wal-Mart worker was killed by shoppers who physically broke down the doors and rushed the store.

Is it the financial crunch that makes people so excited to shop at Wal-Mart? This is insanity. The man who died was a part-time, temporary worker, just doing his job. Can you believe that shoppers were this voracious?

Marc Jacobs Pays Out $1M in Bribery Case - Scandal Alert

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

Marc Jacobs $1M Bribery Case

When it comes to NYC, the most desirable party spots for a high end designer would probably be either: a condemned doll parts factory, now used by a Russian crime family as a clearing house for fake LV handbags and large cocaine shipments -- or the 69th Regiment Armory.

Being a first rate designer, and a seemingly classy gent on the up-and-up, Marc Jacobs prefers the Armory -- but that doesn't mean he doesn't have to bend a couple of little old laws to get it. Now he's going to have to pay.

    Getty Images

According to the New York Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, Marc Jacobs has been paying off the Armory's superintendent James Jackson to get access to the prized venue for the last few years. Between 2000 and 2007, Jacobs allegedly dolled out $35,000 in cash and other gifts to the superintendent. Oops. Isn't a guy allowed to be generous anymore?

    Getty Images

We know that the Armory is a prime locale for showing off you collections at Fashion Week, but is it really worth getting busted on bribery charges? Apparently, Marc decided that $1M was a fair price for not having to take the case to court -- a wise decision in our opinion.

In addition to the hefty fine, Marc and Co. have agreed to let a private company investigate their business for two years, sending the report to the Attorney General's office.

Jacobs, of course, is a very popular with celebrities. Will this recent scandal effect their love for the prolific designer? Somehow we doubt it (in fact, it'll probably boost sales). Keep browsing to see more high profile Marc Jacobs fans.

To the best of our knowledge Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe haven't spoken since it all went down in '06, until they were spotted chatting away like the besties they once were, at the Alberta Ferretti store opening last week in LA. Say what?!
